The Value of Mentoring

“Great coaches help us build our strengths and overcome our weaknesses. They help us get better at things that we are already good at and love to do. But even more importantly, coaching allows us to realize that we should not try to focus on getting better at our weaknesses. Instead, we should overcome them through delegation or deletion.”

Kelly is a strong believer that one is never too old to learn.  Since beginning his career in the financial services industry nearly 20 years ago, he has always looked for opportunities to grow—seeking guidance from personal and business coaches and learning from industry leaders like Tony Robbins, Jay Abraham, Dan Sullivan, Ron Carson, Sarano Kelley and Duncan MacPherson. “We are all students no matter our age,” he says.

He has also served as mentor and coach to hundreds of people in the financial services industry by helping advisors set up their own financial practices, providing individual consulting, speaking at events across the country as well as offering his perspectives on the financial services industry to the media.

Kelly has many titles next to his name. These include Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor (CMFC). He has spent real money and real time to learn the many facets of financial planning and financial services.
